CAUGHT YOU LISTENING!!
Father spoke about the Lenten retreat at Holy Name concerning exorcism.
God is the only one that can heal the deep wounds in each of us. He can give us the remedy we need.
Today’s gospel we have a child who is demon possessed. There were two desperate people. The father who was hopeless and the child who was possessed. The father was helpless to help his child.
It is difficult to be a good parent in this society. If parents are not careful, their child can be lost in this world. In every step of the way, the evil one is watching our child. We must pay attention!
What is the best thing you can give to your kid? Faith!
Parenting doesn’t end when they are grown. We have to look out for them.

Before Jesus came, demon possession was a common thing. Jesus gave the authority to expel demons. Demons flee before Jesus. This was a sign that Jesus was the chosen one.
We are rntrri g a post Christian world. People continue to mock God. The advise of Father Lampart was to take your faith seriously! Those who are strong in their faith have nothing to fear. God is all powerful.

When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted.

CAUGHT YOU LISTENING!!
Third Sunday of Lent. Mid-lent. Reflection of the Holy cross.

Christ died on the cross for me!
The cross is an instrument of freedom. This shows we are followers of Christ. The sign of the cross is a very deep symbol. There are three mysteries that we comemorate when we bless our selfs.
First creation. God has existed since eternity. They wanted to share that life, to share in the life of God in the Holy Trinity. God wants to pull you in to live with Him in communion with the Blessed Trinity.

Second mystery is the mystery of Incarnation. This happened because we chose suffering and death rather than live with Him. The Incarnation Jesus taking on a human form, helped bring us back to God.

Third is Redemption. God died for our sins. If it wasn’t for our sins, Jesus would not be crucified!

LENTEN PRAYER OF ST EPHRAIM THE SYRIAN

The Lenten prayer of St Ephraim the Syrian is a regular part of Great Lent. It is read in the morning and in the evening on the weekdays of the Lenten season. Whereas on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday, it is not read, for the services of these days do not follow the Lenten pattern.

This is how we pray:
“O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, despair, lust of power, and idle talk.” (prostration)
“But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant.” (prostration)
“Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and not to judge my brother, for blessed art Thou, unto ages of ages. Amen.” (prostration)
“O God, cleanse me a sinner.” (12 times, each time followed by a bow)
“O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, despair, lust of power, and idle talk.
But give rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to Thy servant.
Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and not to judge my brother, for blessed art Thou, unto ages of ages. Amen.” (prostration)

The prayer of St Ephraim the Syrian is much loved by children for the many bows and prostrations we make during it. This is why the best way to read this prayer is with the whole family.

Many people like the prayer so much that they continue reading it throughout the year and that is commendable.
